Billie Brown, born in Brooklyn, New York, is the daughter of a Baptist minister.  Billie began her journey in music through singing in the church choir and performing in school plays. Growing up in the Baptist church, she quickly discovered her passion for music, receiving school music awards at a young age.

Inspired by the energy of Funk, Blues and Soul music —Billie found her calling in the underground House music scene.

She frequently visited the legendary Paradise Garage, where icons like Grace Jones, Gwen Guthrie, Melba Moore, Madonna,  and Whitney Houston performed, and where DJ Larry Levan’s sets inspired her to take the stage herself. Within six months, she collaborated with Boyd Jarvis and Timmy Regisford, producing her first underground House hit, “Nobody’s Business.”
 

Billie’s career blossomed from there, with a diverse discography that includes collaborations with renowned producers like Boyd Jarvis, Timmy Regisford , Oliver Stumm, Jamie Lewis, C&C Music Factory, Kenny Dope and Louie Vega. Some notable tracks include:

Her unique voice and songwriting have led to over 145 recordings, spanning various genres and projects. Billie’s

work has been featured in Movies, "Love is the Legend", "Commercial Man, and "Maestro".  In addition, voiceovers, commercial ads for brands like Apple, Porsche, the Wendy Williams Radio Show, and “Top of the Pops.”

Billie’s dynamic performances and appearances have taken

her around the world, from the iconic Ministry of Sound and Heaven in London to the celebrated Southport Weekender in Manchester. She has toured extensively, with notable appearances in Singapore, Paris, Australia with Masters

at Work, and Canada, where she performed at Ontario’s Gay Pride. Billie has also graced the stage of the legendary

Paradise Garage,  Limelight, and the Palladium in New York, pivotal venues in the history of House music. As the main singer of H2O, she brought her powerful voice to audiences worldwide. In New York, she has also performed at iconic spots like the World Famous Area, Bowery Bar, and has been a regular performer at Kaufleuten, Zurich since 1998 with her most recent performance there in 2024 with  Danny Krivit, for Body and Soul. 

A versatile vocalist, Billie’s musical style spans across jazz, soul, gospel, blues, funk, and rock. She recently performed as a guest with, Freddy Scherer the guitarist from Gottthard and his band, Second Trail, further showcasing her ability to bring depth and emotion to each genre. Her New York appearances include the legendary Wigstock festival, a key event in the LGBTQ+ community, and a special performance with Tone Lōc on the Jonathan Ross Show at the Ed Sullivan Theater.

Currently, Billie is featured in Tschugger, Switzerland’s number one movie and a popular television series, further highlighting her versatility as both a performer and a cultural contributor.
